Dear Families,
Following our communications over the past two days regarding the exceptionally high temperatures and red weather alerts, we are now able to confirm that Pool Hayes Primary School will be closed to all pupils on Friday 26 June due to the continuing extreme heat.
This decision has not been taken lightly. We know that school closures can be disruptive for families, and we have carefully considered all available options. Working closely with our Trust and following guidance from Walsall Local Authority and the Department for Education, we have implemented a range of measures to reduce temperatures within the building. However, with temperatures forecast to remain exceptionally high, we believe that closing the school is the most appropriate course of action to support the wellbeing and comfort of our families, children and staff.
Learning during the closure:
Learning activities will be set on Class Dojo and we encourage children to complete the work set by their class teacher where possible.
School meals:
Families entitled to free school meals can collect a meal from the school reception. Please contact the school office before 9:00 to confirm your order.
We would like to thank all families for their patience, understanding and support during this period of unusually hot weather. We appreciate the challenges these conditions bring and are grateful for the way our school community continues to work together.
