At Pool Hayes Primary School, the Always Children Award is our highest accolade and recognises those pupils who consistently demonstrate our school values every single day. This prestigious award can be earned at Christmas, Easter and at the end of the Summer Term, celebrating children who are excellent role models both in and out of the classroom.

Being an “Always Child” means much more than simply following the rules. These children consistently make positive choices, uphold our school ethos and embody the values that help our school community thrive. They follow our Golden Rules at all times by:

Being Safe

Being Respectful

Being Ready to Learn

Our Always Children are recognised for showing outstanding character and commitment throughout the term. They demonstrate determination when faced with challenges, resilience when things become difficult, and positivity in their approach to learning and relationships. They understand the importance of doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching, and they set an excellent example for their peers.

We also recognise that these qualities extend beyond the classroom. Always Children show responsibility and maturity at home and at school, taking pride in their actions and contributions to the wider community.

Children who achieve this award are presented with a special Always Child badge during a whole-school presentation assembly. The badge proudly represents the key qualities that every Always Child demonstrates:

Responsibility – taking ownership of their actions and learning.

Honesty – being truthful and trustworthy in all situations.

Kindness – showing care, compassion and consideration for others.

Integrity – doing the right thing, even when it is difficult.

Respect – valuing themselves, others and the world around them.

The Always Children Award is a celebration of the pupils who consistently go above and beyond, making Pool Hayes Primary School a positive, caring and successful place to learn. We are incredibly proud of every child who achieves this honour and the example they set for our school community.
