Pool Hayes Primary House Captains Hit New Heights with National Business Success
This year’s Pool Hayes Primary Year 6 House Captains — Ava-Grace, Cole, Bobby G, Noah, Eliza, Isla, Kayleigh, and Theo — have truly outdone themselves.
For an unprecedented fifth consecutive year, a business team from Pool Hayes Primary has secured a place at the National Finals this November — a remarkable achievement few schools can match. Echoing the words of Peter Jones from BBC’s Dragons’ Den at last year’s event: “This is your moment — a time to be proud and reflect on what you’ve accomplished and learned together.”
Competing as ‘Mind Craft’, these young entrepreneurs rose above a field of hundreds of schools from across the UK. Their business not only topped their league but also generated an impressive £720 in profit, representing a staggering 805% return on investment from their initial loan — a clear lead over the competition.
Their venture wasn’t just profitable — it had purpose. With a focus on well-being, creativity, and relaxation, the team hosted after-school sessions where children could explore arts and crafts in a fun, calming environment. Their motto captured the spirit perfectly: “Take some craft in your art!”
Driven by passion and teamwork, the team poured their energy into the project, using their profits to support local charities and eco-initiatives within the school. It’s a shining example of compassionate entrepreneurship in action — and a testament to the power of young minds with a mission.
Staff, families, and the wider Pool Hayes community are bursting with pride at this outstanding achievement, which adds yet another chapter to the school’s rich tradition of enterprise excellence.

The Pool Hayes Primary Year 6 school House Captains this year comprising of Alice, Arabella, Poppy, Tyler E, Tyler B, Daniel, Leah and William have done it again..!
For a staggering and unequalled FOURTH year running, a business team from Pool Hayes Primary have been invited to the national finals event held at Canary Warf in London. In the words of Peter Jones (BBC Dragons Den) at the finals last year, “just think of a Wembley Stadium full of children – that’s how many people you’ve competed against and beaten to get to these finals. What an amazing achievement!” The Crafty Arts team competed against over 300 schools from across the UK and topped their league making over £300 in profit this year.
Their feel-good business enabled children to work on their art, craft skills and well-being in a variety of after school events. Their ethos was – “Crafty Arts aims to mould and inspire your artistic ideas and improve your creative skills.”
They drove the project with real commitment and energy raising over £300 for local charities and eco projects in school out of their profits. A fantastic example of big-hearted entrepreneurship in our local community.
Pool Hayes Primary staff and families are enormously proud of the team and their fantastic achievement, adding to an ever-growing tradition of accomplished young enterprise at our school.
Well done to the whole team for winning National second placed for KS1/2, a stunning outcome that continues the tradition of excellence in young enterprise at PHP! The pictures below were taken at the ceremony held at The Pelligon in Canary Wharf in London.
